New South Wales Report - February 2010
Don Stein AM
We are delighted that our life member and former executive member Don Stein, was recently made a member of the Order of Australia (AM) in the Australia Day Honours List.
Don is the first person to be made a member of the Order for services to the CCF. Such recognition is a credit to CCF and an indication of the status we have in the community.
Focus on 2010
There’s nothing like the sense of urgency surrounding the start of a new year. The New South Wales branch has spent the beginning of the year busy planning a full program of events, symposia, policy forums and briefings, to ensure members get maximum value for money.
As it is an election year, we will maintain pressure on both the government and the opposition to announce and implement policies which will improve the plight of our industry. We are always happy to make representations on behalf of members.
Annual leaders forum
The deferred annual leaders forum will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Norwest on Friday 26 February from 9am. We are delighted that Dial Before You Dig agreed to remain as our major sponsor of the day. The speakers will change slightly and a new brochure will be issued early in the New Year. Delegates will also attend a luncheon with a new Infrastructure Minister Tony Kelly.
The cost of the day will be $135 for members or $330 for non-members. Please register by calling Sarah Clarke on (02) 9009 4000.
Race day
The annual Race Day will be held on Saturday 27 February 2010 at Rosehill Gardens. Guests will enjoy an afternoon of fashion and wagering, whilst indulging in fine wine and a seafood buffet. Registration for the afternoon is open now with numbers restricted to 150. So please book early.
Symposium into recycled materials
Following on from the success of last year’s symposium into recycled materials, we have decided to host another symposium on Friday 26 March 2010. We have already secured quality speakers and delegates will be the first to see the State Government’s revised and update Greenspecs publication. Please register by called Sarah Clarke.
bauma 2010
We are delighted that the number of billets available for CCF members to attend Bauma has now been filled. Whilst we can assist any late starters with travel arrangements, we cannot make any commitment that they will stay with the CCF contingent. Our thanks to both Komatsu and Westrac for agreeing to sponsor individual events for our delegation during our week long stay.
