Reform of Sydney’s local government authorities
|
In consultation with a number of other industry associations, CCF has been part of a Sydney wide discussion paper published by KPMG, calling on the State and Commonwealth to reform local government, particularly in the Sydney metropolitan area. |
|
Per capita, Sydney councils are the most over represented local government areas in Australia and do not reach the efficiencies seen in both Victoria and Queensland.
The report suggested that the size of these authorities can have a direct correlation with the quality of services offered and, more importantly, the delay in having major projects approved.
Members are always encouraged to direct their concerns to CCF so that we can maintain a watching brief and lobby both sides of Parliament on the growing need to reform this essential part of government.
