The CCF SA Branch has moved into its new home at No 1 South Road Thebarton.
At the April 2008 CCF SA Board Strategic Planning day, there was agreement that the CCF SA centralise its operations into one, high profile, centralised administration and centre of training excellence. After a 14 month search, a suitable property of some 4200m² was identified. Following a comprehensive due diligence process, settlement occurred in March 2010.
The fit-out was undertaken in two projects. The first being the fit-out of offices and training rooms, was undertaken by CCF SA staff. The second, a new elevator and stairs went out to tender. Extensive planning for both projects started early in 2010.
The first project included the fit-out of some 450m² of offices and 500m² of training rooms, commenced early 2010. Also included were 400m² of undercover workshops and a forklift/EWP and scissor lift training area. As the project progressed, further construction was brought forward including a new reception area, a seventh classroom, a toilet block, an entrance foyer and a simulator room.
The second project has been designed to ensure effective management of the flow of students from the ground floor reception area to the first floor canteen and training rooms. This project was put out to tender and is expected that this project will be completed by late 2010.
Planning for the relocation of CCF SA member services at the Woodville office and Civil Train SA at the Dry Creek site, started more than 12 months ago on two fronts, physical and human resources.
A relocation team from both sites oversaw the planning and implementation of the physical move. The hard work paid off in a seamless move, resulting in no loss in CCF SA’s capability to service its members or deliver training. On the first day in the new Head Office, five classes of students made sure that all of our planning was tested to the fullest!
The development of a common culture between the two sites and developing an effective CCF SA team, has also been a long term project. Regular opportunities have been made for staff from the two sites to meet and work together, ensuring that an understanding of each other’s roles and responsibilities was developed.
Regular staff discussions, brainstorming sessions, team projects and surveys before and after the relocation, have ensured that a strong, cohesive team has been established. This has been a successful process and has ensured that all staff now work effectively together in one open office space.
All CCF members are welcome to call in at any time to see the progress being made and to utilise these member facilities.
