CCF WA responds
We have recorded a significant increase in companies interested in membership in recent weeks. Whilst this is great news, we want to be sure that we also fully understand the needs of our existing members as well.
One initiative we believe is crucial to success in member services, is ensuring that this function is well managed. To that end, Mike Morris has assumed oversight for all member services functions within CCF WA, including sub committees, events, IMS/SCIMS sales and membership enquiries. Mike brings unparalleled experience to this role in all of the key areas and I am sure that all members will be grateful to have Mike’s experience at their disposal.
In order for this to happen we have had to appoint a new training manager to take over from the work Mike agreed to take on early last year. Aidan O’Grady comes to us with a strong training and member service background and we feel he is the ideal person to continue to build on the foundation that Mike and his team have built over the past 15 months.
As mentioned last month, CCF WA aims to meet all members before 30 June, to find ways to enhance our member service and training delivery. If you would like to meet with Mike or Aidan please feel free to call on 9240 5233.
New training marketing campaign
We are unveiling a new training campaign to help members realise the many financial and other business benefits available through Certificate III and Certificate IV level traineeships as well as a range of short courses.
Recent state government subsidy increases, and a relaxing of some eligibility criteria for trainees, make this an ideal time for members to invest in training. Information is available by calling Civil Train on 9240 5233.
CCF WA thanks Greg Murphy
CCF WA has been very well served over two decades by Greg Murphy from Downer EDi Works. Greg has held various board roles over many years, and more recently represented contractors of all sizes on various Main Roads committees, most notably the WA Road Construction and Maintenance Industry Advisory Group. Greg has started taking the first steps towards a planned retirement at the end of 2010 and his involvement in Main Roads will be passed on to others in coming months. From CCF WA, Greg we thank you for your years of faithful service to the industry. You will be missed!
Coming events
Brendon Grylls, Nationals WA leader and Minister for Regional Development, Lands and Minister Assisting the Minister for State Development, will be our guest speaker at the next CCF WA luncheon on Tuesday 13 April at the Parmelia Hilton with thanks to Landcorp.
The next meeting of South West members will be on Tuesday 4 May at the Vat Restaurant in Bunbury.
Planning is well underway for the 2010 Earth Awards presentation on Friday 6 August. Nominations for the awards close on 31 May. CCF WA can provide independent assistance to members to submit their entries.
