Cat loaders come turbocharged

Caterpillar 267B, 277B and 287B Multi Terrain loaders feature new US EPA tier II compliant, turbocharged engines with up to 18% more power.

Also, they have more power, higher breakout forces, redesigned operator station components, and design changes that improve reliability and serviceability. They replace the original models.

Compact, rubber-tracked machines designed for exceptional versatility, flotation, traction, stability and ride quality, the machines combine proven technology and a suspended rubber track undercarriage. It transfers machine weight to the ground through wheeled contact points bearing against the track for very low ground pressure. The undercarriage remains unchanged in the B-series.

The three are powered by the new Cat 3044C DIT diesel engine. It has 3.3 litres of displacement and is direct injected and turbocharged for responsive and fuel-efficient operation. The engine boosts power by more than 18% in the 267B to a net of 52kW and more than 5% in the 277B and 287B to a net of 59kW.

Comfort reliability and serviceability improvements are the same as featured in the article on the five new radial lift and four new vertical lift skid steers featured in this magazine last month.

The 287B is the largest with an operating capacity of 1632 kg, when defined as 50% of tipping load. The rated operating capacity is up 39kg from the previous model. The 287B features vertical lift linkage for extended lift height and reach.

The 277B operating capacity is 1338kg and the 267B has an operating capacity of 1315kg at 50%.
