Ejector-Scraper earthmoving machines manufactured by Melbourne-based company Lightwave Technology, are enabling a range of earthmoving contractors and ground management authorities to achieve efficient, highly accurate grading and development earthworks on sportsgrounds, and similar civil construction projects.
The company makes its ejector-scrapers with working widths of 1.8, 2.1 and 2.4m which can be trailed behind small to medium power tractors.
The units have a range of features including rippers, a retaining apron and oscillating axles to handle a variety of construction tasks.
They can be fitted with or without an internal ejector blade which enables the unit to be employed as just a grader-scraper, or with a carry-grade capacity of 3.5m3 cubic metres of fill on the 2.4m width model.
In this case the fill material can be carried and deposited to fill the determined low spots in the ground pattern.
A choice of tilting rear axles that enable either both or only one rear axle to be tilted hydraulically to achieve cross grade or cross falls on particular sites is also available.
The unit can be manually operated from a control box in the tractor cabin or can be fitted with laser grade control or global positioning system control capability.
Manufacturer Graeme Davis said that his machines are robust, reliable and use commonly available hydraulic components.
“We have our machines working around Australia and have opened up an export market to New Zealand. One of our machines is employed in the annual refurbishment and restoration of Albert Park in Melbourne after the Grand Prix event. A substantial area which hosts one of the major Grand Prix portable grandstands is re-graded to a known grade each year by the ground maintenance contractor to enable its return to soccer training pitches,” Davis noted
