The 2006 CivEnEx 2006 Expo in Sydney marked the 51 st annual show run by the Institute of Public Works Engineering in NSW. This year the show covered 24,000m2 of indoor and outdoor exhibits with more than 4000 trade visitors viewing displays from 220 exhibitors in the two days.
“We are working to have an event where exhibitors and visitors can really get value for time spent,” said event manager Frank Sticka. “CivEnEx is the only show that I know of that really covers the whole range of equipment that would be used by councils and small to medium sized contractors.” This year's expo was a great success and the response from many of the companies on display was very positive.
Kubota was represented by the NSW dealer Australian Hammer Supplies. On display were two, all-new, RTV 900 utility vehicles recently sold to the new elephant enclosure at Sydney's Taronga Park Zoo. Powered by 15kW Kubota D902 diesel engines, and incorporating 3-speed hydrostatic transmissions, each hydraulic bed lift tray has a load capacity of 740kg. Taronga Zoo's resident elephants are sure to keep these versatile vehicles very busy and the exceptional load capacity for such small vehicles will come in handy as a result of their large appetites.
