Hard Yakka Koolgear beats the heat

Yakka has launched a new range of performance workwear that will keep workers cool and dry in the harshest Aussie weather.

Hard Yakka Koolgear uses a unique blend of innovative design and specialised fabrics that help regulate body temperature in extreme heat.

The range of long and short sleeved, high-visibility, polo design shirts, integrate the characteristics of wool science, cotton-backed micromesh, cotton jersey and woven-cotton fabrics.

Each garment has a sun protection rating of UPF 50+ and incorporates a mixture of underarm and upper body cotton mesh, cooling vents. This ensures the wearer remains cool and dry by generating airflow to the body, which quickly evaporates perspiration.

Wool Science is a trademark of The Woolmark Company and combines wool's insulation attributes with hardwearing polyester to offer comfort and performance. The fine Merino wool transfers the moisture vapour from the skin through the polyester for quick drying.

Cotton Backed Micromesh combines the comfort of cotton with the moisture management properties of micromesh, which draws perspiration away from the skin and quickly turns it into vapour.

Cotton Jersey is a natural fibre that provides the wearer with an outstanding level of comfort because the short smooth cotton fibres draw the perspiration away from the body.

The 100% Woven Cotton garments feature outstanding vapour and thermal management that has been tested and proven by the CSIRO. The fabric's strength has also been independently proven in “Tear and Break” tests, which exceeded the Australian standard.
