With a 1.5t-rated operating capacity, Bobcat's new S330 skid-steer, becomes the company's biggest.
With its heavy lift capability and 3.3m high lift, Bobcat expects it to appeal particularly to customers in the construction, landscaping and agricultural markets.
Another major factor behind what Bobcat calls the S330's class-leading performance, is its liquid-cooled diesel engine. Equipped with a bigger engine with increased displacement and power (63.4kW), performance for high-flow attachment applications like planers, wheel saws and Brushcat rotary cutters is enhanced.
The S330, as well as the other Bobcat large-frame loaders - models S250, S300, T300 and A300 - comes with an improved cooling system that increases the loaders' cooling capacity by 30%. The SmartFAN cooling system features a variable speed fan that rotates at full speed only when required.
Because of this, it has the ability to provide increased cooling in extreme operating conditions, such as when using high-flow attachments or in heavy digging applications. The cooling system also keeps the S330 performing in areas with high ambient temperatures or on high elevation jobsites.
The S330 provides unmatched comfort and visibility and operators of all sizes can easily enter and exit the spacious cab which also provides ample leg, foot, arm and head room, and an adjustable suspension seat and foot pedals. Customers can choose several cab options, including an enclosed cab with heating and air conditioning.
Automatic engine shutdown with a hydraulic system monitor, optimises loader uptime and protects the customer's investment. The operating sensing system, which monitors several machine functions through gauges, warning lights and audible alarms, warns the operator of irregular conditions, to aid in service troubleshooting. And the S330's transversely mounted engine allows for easy access to routine maintenance items.
For superior attachment operation, the S330 comes with standard fingertip auxiliary hydraulic control, maximum/variable flow and forward/reverse detent. A deluxe panel option provides information on the function of a specific attachment by showing the operator which fingertip auxiliary controls to use.
Operators can quickly and easily switch between attachments with the Bob-Tach attachment mounting system or optional hydraulic power Bob-Tach system. Two-speed travel which comes standard, increases the loader's mobility around jobsites by providing a 12km/h normal travel speed and a 20km/h travel speed.
Optional operator comfort features include an attachment control kit, deluxe instrumentation panel and selectable joystick controls (SJC) with power and speed management. The power management feature, which comes standard with the SJC option, automatically adjusts the loader drive system to maximise pushing and digging power. With speed management, operators can simply “dial in” their desired travel speed in small increments from 0 to 12km/h, while maintaining drive torque and full hydraulic power.
