Water activates pipe repair bandage

To use a Rapp-it pipe repair bandage, you simply immerse it in water for 10 seconds, then apply it by wrapping it around the damaged pipe. A successful repair can be achieved on a biggish pipe in about 30 minutes.

A roll of fibreglass bandage, impregnated with a water-activated polyurethane resin, each comes with a 50mm stick of steel putty, which can be pushed into holes or cracks before applying the bandage, resulting in an even more secure repair.
Rapp-it bandages can withstand heat up to 150°, pressure up to 150psi, and most diluted chemicals and fuels. The bandages are also approved for use with potable water.
BHP Billiton was recently able to quickly repair a vital 600mm diameter pipe, after an unexpected leak of hyper saline water from a main trunk line, allowed more than 24ML to flow to waste in an hour.
About half a dozen Rapp-it sizes are available Australia wide through Blackwoods. They start with packs of 10 bandages, each measuring 50mm wide by 3.6m long.
