The Nemetz power side shift fitted to a Terex 880 back hoe

In response, a local company has produced a hydraulic power sliding side shift system, that is said to overcome problems associated with inflicting damage on footpaths, grass verges and roadside vegetation.
According to its designer, the Nemetz system is powerful, easy to operate, extremely reliable and can be retro fitted to existing machines. They say it allows the operator to work close to walls or other obstacles, saving time and effort caused by having to move the machine.
Terex backhoe distributor Semco Equipment Sales, says it has fitted the Nemetz power side shift to several of its Terex 880 backhoes for use in road works.
“This feature is a great benefit for customers involved in infrastructure works that need to operate around curb and gutters. By simply releasing the safety locking clamps and using a switch, the operator can move the entire backhoe mechanism from left to right and back without having to rely on pushing or pulling the bucket,” said Semco’s Graham Murphy.
“Its availability has enhanced the the Terex 880’s performance. Its heavy, welded structure, custom designed dual Rexroth pump hydraulics, spacious well laid out controls in the integrated ROPS/level 2 FOPS cabin, good cross flow ventilation and larger tyres, have made it a preferred choice for high use applications,” he said.
