Plant Specs 2010 correction: Hyundai tool carrier loaders classifications

Due to a clerical error, Hyundai tool carriers listed in the 2010 edition of Plant Specs, are incorrectly classified under the new CCF classification system.

Wheel loaders (including tool carriers) are classified by operating load (SWL), which is 50% of the machine’s static tipping load at full turn.
During the production process, the wrong formula to calculate the operating load of Hyundai tool carriers was used; instead of being divided by two, the static tipping load figures for the three Hyundai toolcarriers were divided by five.
The result was operating load figures significantly less than the loaders’ actual capacity, which put them in classes well below where they should be, so they cannot be compared properly with similar-sized machines.
A revised set of tool carrier specifications has been produced as a print-quality PDF. It is available to all readers by email. Address the email to subscriptions@informa.com.au with the subject line “Replacement tool carrier pages from Plant Specs 2010.”
We apologise for this error.
