Berendson set to meet check valve demand

— filed under: ,

Changes to the Australian Standard AS1418:2008 section 5, now specify that earthmoving equipment including backhoes, wheel loaders, excavators, tool carriers and similar units employed to lift and handle freely suspended loads (i.e. with a hook and/or sling) must be fitted with check and metering valves.

Berendsen Fluid Power, Australia’s largest locally owned hydraulic company with 12 branches, offers an extensive range of suitable valves for all types of earthmoving equipment.
When chosen and calibrated to match the operating conditions of an excavator’s hydraulic system, the valves comply with AS1418:2008 section 5 and ISO8643 and can lock and meter down oil flow in the event of hose failure. Their main functions are in boom lifting, holding, lowering and relieving.
Features include:
• Boom up leakage free cylinder locking;
• Metering and possibility to stop cylinder outlet flow in the case of hose failure;
• Anti-shock and relief protection against overloads;
• Fine control of the oil flow for maximum sensitivity;
• Good tolerance to eventual oil contamination;
• Working pressure up to 450bar with the possibility of anti-shock/relief setting up to 600 bar; and
• Possibility of emergency load lowering with inoperative joysticks.
Berendsen Fluid Power can supply the valves to client specifications. However testing must be undertaken by an authorised provider or OEM, to ensure compliance with AS1418:2008 section 5 and ISO8643.
