He said this one is suitable for excavators from 10 to 16t, although in the D4 range, saw blades can range in size from 1.4 to 2.2m in diameter. Cutting power is about 50kW in either a clockwise or anti clockwise direction and for safety the saws come with automatic brakes.
They also come with a rotating cradle, pictured here below the saw case, which allows the saw to be regripped without repositioning the host excavator.
Fischer has his hand on the standard swivel head bracket for connecting to an excavator. A rotating head bracket is available for bigger saws which go up to 3500mm in diameter in five other ranges. For 3.5m diameter saws, intermittent cutting power reaches 250kW requiring an excavator in the 60t class to work them adequately and safely.
