Civenex Victoria is back

The Gippsland Field Days will revive the Victorian Chapter of Civenex when it conducts the event in conjunction with Trucks In Action at Lardner Park from February 13 to 15, 2004.

Civenex was a major showcase for Victorian companies supplying capital works equipment to local government for more than 30 years.

However, with the reduction of the number of councils throughout Victoria in the mid 1990s, the event faltered. Civenex is still a major event in other states.

The move has the full support of the Municipal Engineers Foundation, Engineers Australia, the Institute of Public Works, L G Pro and the Civil Contractors Federation.

The Gippsland Field Days has been running Trucks In Action biennially since the early 1980s and is now regarded as one of the top two truck shows in Australia.

General manager of the Gippsland Field Days George Nicholson said, “We have been running Moving The Earth in conjunction with Trucks In Action since 1994. This move will give a much more comprehensive display.”
