Springfield Lakes tops Australian sales record

After recently breaking Delfin Lend Lease's monthly sales record, Springfield Lakes has now been named number one in Australia.

Springfield Lakes recorded the highest annual land sales for an individual Australian development, racking up 1010 sales by the end of the 2002/2003 financial year.

Located 22km southwest of Brisbane, the development covers 1200ha comprising 10,000 dwellings housing around 30,000 people. It also features 100ha of open space including walking and bike trails, playgrounds, parks and lakes, a state school and college and a retail and commercial centre.

Soaring consumer demand has been fuelled by a shortage of land in South-East Queensland, drawing buyers from outside Springfield Lakes' primary catchment area. The project attracts people wanting to live in an open, green space with a real sense of community.

One of the reasons behind Springfield Lakes' sales boom, is the recent introduction of new community services and facilities, including extensive parklands, children's playgrounds and a bocce court.

Construction has started on the $14.75 million Spring Lake Village shopping and dining precinct, to be completed by the end of this year. Major projects on the horizon include the development of another 17ha of lakes, as well as a district park and sporting field. Completion is expected in 2014.
