bauma 2007 will cover more than 53ha

At bauma from April 23 to 29 2007 in Munich, the organiser says the halls are already fully booked, the demand for the open air space is “enormous” and the waiting list is still long.

That has led Messe Mnchen GmbH to increase exhibition space by 3ha to more than 530,000m2 compared to the last bauma in 2004.

One of the biggest increases in space bookings has come from China, which wants to increase its exhibition space by 500%. It is closely followed by India which is aiming for a 400% increase.

Meanwhile exhibitors from Austria, Luxemburg, Turkey, Korea and Greece, have doubled their space requests, while companies from countries like Bulgaria and Singapore want to exhibit for the first time.

By far the most important trade fair for construction machinery and equipment, building materials machinery and mining technology in the world, bauma will likely attract half a million visitors for the first time next year.

In 2004, 2801 exhibitors from 47 countries made use of bauma as a platform for presentations and marketing, 50% of them from countries other than Germany. More than 416,000 visitors made the trip to Munich then, with 29% of these from countries outside Germany.
