Abigroup preferred for Karuah to Bulahdelah
Abigroup Contractors has been named the preferred contractor for sections 2 and 3 of the Karuah to Bulahdelah section of the Pacific Highway upgrade, valued at about $200m.
The works incorporate 23km of dual carriageway, five twin bridges and will involve almost two million cubic metres of earthworks.
The awarding of the contract is part of Pacific Highway upgrades aimed at improving travel conditions and safety on the Brisbane to Sydney corridor.
Abigroup's managing director Peter Brecht said, “We will proceed immediately on planning to ensure we can be on site and ready to begin this vital upgrade as soon as possible,” he said.
“Abigroup Contractors has a long history of successful infrastructure delivery in NSW. As well as being a partner in the construction of the M7 and other major motorways, the company is currently undertaking works on the Pacific Highway including the Brunswick Heads to Yelgun upgrade and has started planning the Bonville deviation near Coffs Harbour. In the south of the state Abigroup is also conducting major works on the Albury-Wodonga and Coolac bypasses and on the Hume Highway at Gundagai.
