The Alice beckons national conference attendees
By now you should have received your 2007 CCF national conference brochure, so you already know that this year's venue location is Alice Springs, in the beautiful Northern Territory.
The only national forum for industry leaders from all sectors and disciplines to meet and discuss issues that confront and challenge us, it also offers a unique opportunity for the next generation of leaders to meet and build relationships, with their counterparts from other disciplines.
The newly formed National Conference Business Unit, has designed an exciting program to reflect and explore our regular conference theme, the Road to Success is Always Under Construction .
Share our story: it's all about business
It's all about the business of contracting and the program encourages interaction by delegates.
We've arranged the timetable with times to match the conditions, ensuring that all delegates enjoy the region's activities and attractions, at the best times of the day.
There will be more plenary sessions than before as well as toolbox sessions. The plenary sessions focus on two important issues facing the industry and are aimed at providing a forum for the exchange of information.
Our toolbox sessions look at a range of topics affecting all contractors including new technologies and challenges, ensuring delegates have access to the latest thinking in this domain, and bridge communities that rarely get a proper chance to exchange ideas and thoughts.
Our plenary sessions include Growing Our Own : how we can attract, train and retain our workforce and Our Earth, Our Future, a look at how we can guarantee work in the future, guarantee our stake in the industry and what to watch out for on the way.
Toolbox sessions cover:
• The real cost of winning work;
• How to win large jobs with your competitors;
• Size is no guarantee of performance;
• ASR: aquifer storage and recharge; and
• GPS systems at work today.
And we know how to have a good time
The social program promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience with “boat” racing, (yes, even in Alice Springs, but not as wet, cold or traditional as in Hobart last year), golf and a series of outback dining experiences incorporating fun and food unique to the outback.
Together with tours and other unique activities, we are confident that the business program along with an exciting array of social events, will inspire delegates and provide opportunities to build knowledge and strengthen networks.
