Lay Flat Trailers hug the ground for safety
Lay Flat Trailers has revolutionised trailer design in pursuit of protecting operators and payload from serious harm.
Its patent pending technology, means the bed of the trailer can be fully lowered to mitigate risks associated with cargo rolling off, and manoeuvring loads up and down ramps.
Company director Jason Fankhauser says: “Whilst some trailers have a lowering function, we have taken trailer design one step further, by inventing a trailer where the front and rear lower to the ground whilst connected to the tow vehicle”.
Originally targeted at the motorsport industry, Lay Flat Trailers’ key market is mobile plant transport. “A partnership with Baw Baw Shire council, has allowed ground staff to have input into the design of a front deck mower trailer, which the Shire was due to trial for us in November,” Fankhauser said.
All Lay Flat Trailers are fully engineered to ADR, National Transport Commission and Australian Standards to provide long life, with a payload capacity up to 2.5t.
Future plans include a pod system, in which the trailer technology is used to pick up and drop off pods, which may be bulk bins, cool rooms, storage sheds, etc
