Rubble Master, Austria’s global market leader for mobile compact crushers, will be going into 2010 with new strengths, according to founder and CEO Gerald Hanisch.

The new Linz factory

In an end of September press conference in Austria, he said that like many other successful industrial companies in the world, Rubble Master had been hit hard by the current economic crisis.
“But as management we have defined the motto ‘We want to come out of this phase stronger and better than before’ and ‘We are trying to fight our way back into the game.’”
In fiscal year 2008, it recorded its best year, with a turn over of €46.5m ($76m) from 200 machines sold in 66 countries.
But the GFC “caught us at the worst possible moment imaginable. We were growing rapidly and making groundbreaking investments,” Hanisch said. Not least was the company’s commitment in 2007, to build a completely new factory/office complex. Covering some 4000m², on what is in total 18,000m² of developed area, it cost about €7m ($11.5m) and is now operational.
Hanish said, “We are convinced, despite the difficult phase at the moment, that we are extremely well prepared for an upturn. It is particularly in a situation like the current one that you have to be organised in a lean and powerful way. Thanks to acyclic investments in sales, product development and increased production capacity at Linz, we will be prepared for when the markets pick up again.”
But Hanisch said customer response at this year’s trade fairs had already been positive for the company. At MAWEV in Austria, Intermat in Paris and FIDER in Zaragoza, Spain, the company’s RM70 GO! crushers, were sold straight from the stands to Austria, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Germany, England, the USA and Brazil. A pilot project is also running in South Africa with a view to opening up a new market. Other order intake is also up.
Rubble Master claims its ability to quickly and quietly recycle all sorts of rubble, make it a viable option to dumping, even on inner city or suburban demolition sites.
Global sales manager Alexander Taubinger says, “When demolishing a typical single family house, between 500 and 1000 m³ of feed material is produced. That means a mere 2 to 5 days of work, for a mobile, on site Rubble Master crusher, to turn that into reusable aggregate.”
