Mounted at Charles and Kelvin Ogilvie’s property on Old Foulden Road, about 80 people attended to try out not just the backhoe but JCB excavators, wheel loaders and telehandlers.
Mackay branch manager Wes Henshall, said some of the key features of the new backhoe, are its hydraulic powerslide and six-speed transmission with lock-up torque converter. It is the only backhoe on the market available with such features. He said it also embraced a completely new hydraulic system and a longer lift arm.
“Operators who tried it were impressed with its smoothness, speed and power,’’ he said.
