PB’s regional director for Victoria John Theodoulou said the move demonstrated the firm’s ongoing commitment to green development and design.
“One reason we selected the new office building was because of its environmental credentials. We complemented the building’s exterior by implementing a range of green interior elements. Our aim is to eventually achieve a 5 star Green Star rating.
“We will maintain an enduring commitment to environmental principles whilst achieving our commercial objectives. The green interior elements mean that in the long term we will reduce our energy and waste costs,” Theodoulou said.
The new office features:
- Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) furniture constructed from low impact materials that reduce human and environmental health impacts;
- Low energy lighting system that includes zoned motion sensors;
- Maximised use of natural daylight;
- Energy efficient appliances such as printers and refrigerators;
- Real-time resource monitoring to raise awareness of consumption;
- Water efficient appliances such as dishwashers, tap and shower fittings; and
- Management of waste that includes a worm farm.
“We have more than 300 staff in the new office and they’re enjoying the vibrancy and natural lighting in the new space. This bodes well for invigorating our people so they can continue to deliver exceptional client service,” Theodoulou said.
