CCF Earth Awards National Final to be held in October on Queensland's Gold Coast
The $366 million project, completed by the Water Corporation and the Alkimos Water Alliance of Brookfield Multiplex, Macmahon Contractors, and Zblin Australia, won the Category Five Earth Award, recognized for its environmental, construction and project management excellence.
The project presented a range of complexities, from land and marine environmental management to extensive site works, tunnelling, and provisions for high level odour control.
Perth’s Cultural Centre Redevelopment, completed by Ertech was also recognized, as the winner in Category Two, the redevelopment has revitalized the space into a well-used, popular location. Other winners on the night included Zublin Australia for their efforts on the Southern Seawater Desalination Plant, and Italia Stone Group for their work on the Island Street Groyne Repair project.
South Australia’s new Northern Expressway won recognition for civil construction excellence at the CCF South Australia Earth Awards. The $564 million project, completed by a Fulton Hogan & York Civil joint venture in conjunction with the Department of Transport Energy and Infrastructure, won the Category Five Earth Award, recognized for its environmental, construction and project management excellence.
A smaller project - the Coffin Bay Foreshore Redevelopment, completed by EP Civil and Earthmoving won the Category One prize. In Category Two the judges could not decide between Interflow Resources Pty Ltd’s Sewer Rehabilitation of Oviform Pipeline, Commercial Rd, Port Adelaide, and the Earthworks and Remediation Treatment in Birkenhead by McMahon Services, Integrated Waste Services, and Ziltek. The two projects were named joint winners.
Other winners on the night included Leed Engineering and the City of Onkaparinga for the Christie Creek Upgrade, and the Rail Car Relocation Project completed by Catcon (Civil and Allied Technical Construction Pty Ltd).
