Hansen Yuncken adds another high profile project to their portfolio
The $38 million large-format retail store consists of 14,000sqm of retail space, 2 levels of car parking, and a further 2,000 square metres of mezzanine office space to house Costco’s national head office.
The project included an extensive phase of excavation works, while the previous alignment of the adjacent Haslams Creek - which ran straight through the footprint of the new building - created its own set of challenges.
Hansen Yuncken Chief Operating Officer, Chris Bulmer, said practical completion was completed on time and within budget.
“This project follows on from our highly successful construction of many other retail and entertainment facilities, residential apartments and commercial premises around Australia. The company has demonstrated its expertise in the retail sector, particularly shopping centres and bulky goods retailing – both in metropolitan and regional areas,” Bulmer said.
Costco is a wholesale warehouse membership club that carries quality, brand name merchandise at substantially lower prices than typically found at conventional wholesale or retail stores, they are the fourth largest retailer in the US and have 582 stores worldwide.
