Siemsen Group, Grocon, Magnetite and Sun Connect were just some of the building and construction leaders recognised alongside some of the biggest names in Australian business in the leading business awards program.

Now in its sixth year, the Australian Business Awards recognise organisations that demonstrate the core values of business excellence, product excellence, corporate responsibility, sustainability and commercial success in their respective industries.

Development and construction group Grocon were among the big winners in 2011, collecting three awards for Community Contribution, Product Innovation and Best Eco-friendly Product for Pixelcrete, a ‘green’ concrete substitute that achieves the same strength as traditional concrete.

One of Australia’s largest builders specialising in insurance repairs, Siemsen Group was also a winner in the Product Innovation category for its online repair management system Claim Central, while leading solar energy system and solar panel supplier Sun Connect picked up the Enterprise award, which recognises organisations that have achieved outstanding commercial success whilst undertaking bold new ventures.

Window glazing specialists Magnetite were also among the winners in the product award categories, claiming the Product Excellence award for Magnetite Retrofit Double Glazing, which provides a cost effective solution for noise reduction, thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

The most comprehensive awards program of its kind, the Australian Business Awards are open to all organisations across private, public and non-profit sectors and comprise an established series of business and product award categories.

A total of 103 recipients were honoured today from the 928 organisations that participated in the 2011 Awards, for more information about the Australian Business Awards and a full list of winners for 2011 visit: www.businessawards.com.au
